Our mission is to ensure that the youth in Kibera have access to both nourishing food and quality educational opportunities, fostering a sustainable and empowered future for every young individual in the community.

Every Saturday, Malaika Initiative organizes an event in a different part of Kibera, providing meals for over one hundred children and teenagers.

Whether through boxing, muay thai, singing, rapping, dancing, or peer mentorship, Malaika Initiative seeks to instill a sense of purpose and belonging in the hearts of Kibera's youth.

Our ultimate dream: providing a permanent home for a small number of unhoused children, and creating a study and recreation center where Kibera’s children and teenagers can come and do their homework, talk to peers and mentors, or simply hang out in a safe and supportive environment.

From beans, rice, salad, soup, porridge, and more, we know each child who attends our events can reach their full potential - the first step is a full stomach.

Most of the kids we serve are on the street with no one to support them, so we step in to help, especially when it comes to ensuring as many can stay in school as possible.

On April 27th in Fort Jesus, Kibera, over 1,000 community members came to see Boxing (Girls and Boys Bouts), Muay Thai, Dance Routines, and Local Artists all showing their talents and laying them on the line for the capacity crowd. Food was served and scholarships provided for participants.

Together, we can offer Kibera's youth more than just survival; we can give them a path to thrive.
